Ecological agrotourism in Menorca

A small ecological agrotourism in Menorca. Located in the heart of the island, between the towns of Alaior and Es Mercadal, Turmadèn is the perfect refuge for nature lovers, where comfort, style and character are mixed with passion and commitment to the environment.

Turmadèn is an Arabic name that means The Mine Hill, in reference to an old abandoned mine possibly from Roman times. There is documentation on the Turmadèn estate, part of our family heritage for many generations, dating from the beginning of the fourteenth century. Since 2003 we have been reclaiming its agrarian activity, which had been abandoned in 1996. We have opted for organic production because it is important to take care of both health and land. We currently produce organic meat and honey for market, and other products to supply the hotel. Responsible use of water and energy have been two pillars in our project. The water is purified in an ecological way and the energy for heating and hot running water is produced at the farm itself.
